Land Use, Planning & Zoning Law

Attorney Derek Durbin graduated from Vermont Law School in 2005 with a dual Juris Doctorate/Master of Studies in Environmental Law degree where he focused his studies on land use, planning and zoning issues. Since graduating from law school, Attorney Durbin has dedicated much of his career to practicing within this particular area of law, with an emphasis on real estate development, planning, and zoning. Durbin Law represents developers and landowners in obtaining and opposing land use approvals.

As a subset to his land use practice, Attorney Durbin provides representation and counsel to clients on wetlands and shoreland-related matters under RSA 482-A and 483-B. Prior to starting his own law practice, Attorney Durbin was the Policy Director for the New Hampshire Lakes Association, a statewide non-profit organization focused heavily on water quality protection and boating safety issues. In his role as Policy Director, Attorney Durbin drafted and successfully lobbied for a number of changes to New Hampshire's water quality protection and boating laws.
