Derek R. Durbin, Esq.

Attorney Derek Durbin graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Following this, he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree and a Master’s of Studies in Environmental Law degree from Vermont Law School in 2005.

Prior to founding Durbin Law Offices PLLC in 2009, Attorney Durbin worked at the law firm of McConnell Valdes in San Juan, Puerto Rico (2005-2006) and at the New Hampshire Lakes Association (2006-2008), primarily focused in the areas of corporate, real estate, and environmental law. 

Attorney Durbin is licensed to practice in the New Hampshire State and Federal District Courts.  He is also licensed to practice law in the State of Massachusetts. The primary focus of his law practice is in the areas of real estate, land use, and municipal law.  Attorney Durbin spends a significant amount of time appearing before local land use boards.

In addition to holding the above licenses, Attorney Durbin also holds a principal broker’s real estate license and a title (insurance) producer’s license in the State of New Hampshire.  He is the owner of Catalina Closing & Settlement Services, LLC, a real estate title and closing company located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. 

Attorney Durbin serves on the Board of Trustees for the Seacoast Reparatory Theatre in Portsmouth, NH. He previously served on the Portsmouth Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2007 – 2015 and is a past board member of the NH Coastal Protection Partnership, NH Surfrider Foundation and the Portsmouth Share Fund. 

When not practicing law, Attorney Durbin spends a majority of his time with his wife, Viviana, and three daughters, Catalina, Dahlia and Daniela, and practicing yoga, snowboarding, surfing the nearby wave breaks, and attending local theatre performances (especially the ones his daughters are in).
