DEREK DURBIN, Esquire
Derek Durbin graduated from Vermont Law School with a joint Juris Doctor and Master’s of Studies in Environmental Law degree in 2005. Following his graduation from law school, he worked for the law firm of McConnell Valdes in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he assisted in counseling large business organizations in environmental permitting processes. In late 2006, Derek returned to NH to work as the Policy Director for the NH Lakes Association, a statewide non-profit organization. In this position, Attorney Durbin was instrumental in drafting and lobbying some of the most sweeping water resource protection legislation in state history, including major changes to NH's Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act (CSPA) and a boating speed limit on Lake Winnipesaukee. Attorney Durbin currently concentrates his practice in land use, water resource, environmental and real estate law and litigation.
In addition to his law practice, Attorney Durbin is also a licensed Realtor, affiliated with Buyer's Brokers Only, LLC. As an exclusive Buyer's Agent, Attorney Durbin is able to serve as both Realtor and Attorney to his clients at no additional cost, as his fee comes from the sales commission paid by the Seller.
Attorney Durbin is active in the Seacoast community where he serves on the Portsmouth Zoning Board of Adjustment and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the NH Coastal Protection Partnership ("NH Coast"). In his free time, you’ll find him outdoors either surfing some of the region's empty point breaks or exploring the vast NH backcountry.
